about

(The Lion)
The population of Bamako, the capital of Mali, is rising day by day, swollen by people from the North and centre of the country who come to Bamako seeking refuge and security.
There are huge traffic jams, where the black smoke from car exhausts mixes with the ambient dust. It’s as if there are smoke machines around the lamp posts.
In this atmosphere swarm unoccupied and rootless youngsters whose password is: "Making Do".
I gave a new name to this hustle and bustle: “WARA”.
This “Wara” environment symbolizes all the evils that afflict the people such as poverty, idleness, squalor, disease.
Here, life is a struggle every day.
A Bambara proverb says: “The living fly off with the wings of the deceased.”
We must face the Lion.
